EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) – The cause of a fire at an Emporia business’s greenhouse remains unknown as crews continue an investigation into how the blaze started.
KVOE reports that around 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, emergency crews were called to Guion’s Showcase at 2023 W. Sixth Ave. with reports of a fire.
When the Emporia Fire Department arrived, firefighters said they found a large amount of smoke billowing from the facility, however, the fire’s intensity remains unknown.
EFD indicated that no injuries were reported as a result of the fire and the blaze was contained to the greenhouse while being kept away from the main building.
As of Thursday morning, the fire’s cause and the extent of damage had not been determined.
